LOOKING LIKE THE VISION: GOD’S TRANSFORMATION PROCESS
August / September WPPI conference
What happens between the time we receive God’s vision for our future and when we actually walk in that vision? God is busy transforming us to “look like the vision.” Often, God must work on equipping us – molding our character, our relationships and our perspective – so that we can take on His God-sized vision. By understanding His transformation process, we can better cooperate with Him, rather than be fearful or discouraged. During this session, Geri will share some of her personal experiences, as well as what she has learned from past and present life coaching clients, about what actually goes on when God is transforming a person to look like the vision He has given to them. Listeners who desire to “put off the old self” and “put on the new self” will be encouraged as they get a better understanding of God’s loving hand as He leads us to our personal promised land.
Bio:
Geri has over twenty years of experience in working with women of all ages. Most recently, she played the role of coach as an ACE-Certified Personal Trainer with her own business for over a dozen years. In this role, she helped women and couples realize their fitness goals by designing and implementing customized fitness programs. Because she worked with each client one-on-one in their homes, she was able to develop a relationship with them and often got beyond their fitness goals to minister to their spiritual needs.
During her tenure as a trainer, Geri also served as an advisory board member of a Christian jewelry company. RememberMe Jewelry, Inc.markets Greek and Hebrew symbols through the internet, Christian bookstores, catalogs, and Christian event sales. In addition, Geri enjoyed the opportunities to work at events and partake in what God is doing through the message of the scripture-based jewelry.
Geri also held the position of Director of Prevention Education at the Crisis Pregnancy Center, in which she trained, coached and led a team of teens who spoke to their peers throughout the local school system on the benefits of abstinence before marriage.
Prior to that, Geri worked as a Peer Counselor at the Crisis Pregnancy Center. In this role, she coached and assisted young mothers-to-be with their functional and emotional needs during a critical time in their lives. In all of these positions, Geri was able to hone her communication and people skills with women of all ages.
